How many spare watts does a NC30 have...

...to supply heated gear? I have a 55 watt (max) liner, and 27 watt (max) gloves.
I doubt I'd run them at full draw, so lets say 50% use gives us a 40 watt continous draw.
I can't find any specs on the outputs of the NC30.
thanks..

OHMS LAW
I = PV
55+27=82W max demand
82W/14V = 5.8A Extra load.
not sure on the Alternator output, but that would be the best place to start then calculate total demand with EVERY thing on.
hope this helps Rick

So far, I've come up empty on the search for the gross or net max output on the NC.
Anyone know the spare capacity?

If i wasnt busy right now id work it out for you.
but im pretty sure its documented in the haynes manual.
also find out what type of alt it is the VFR uses and you can find out max output, and then workout what you have spare after all is calculated.
could put a rough figure in with the fuses rupture capacity.
is it
3 x 10A
1 x 15A
1 x 30A master, you could use the 30A master as your max load,
again reverse/transpose ohms law to get
P = I x V
30A x 14V = 420W MAX Demand/Required bearing in mind that start up will draw HUGE current, but the alternator isnt used for that
so on the basis of that CB400, i think youll be safe with an extra 5.8A or 82W
ps thanks for the good karma

It outputs 350 watts
Not a great deal left over when you factor in
Headlamp / Indicators / Brake Lights, Ignition box / Coils

Hi, just messure the voltage across the battery with everything plugged in and switched on with the bike running, if voltage stays over 12.5 volts at 4-500rpm then it still charging the battery so it be fine.
Cheers
