I am looking to replace my fork dust seals for the MOT as they are badly cracked, I don’t know which set to buy off flea bay as they range so dramatically in price, so answers here please ;) . How big a job will it be and is it worth replacing the main fork seals at the same time even though they don’t leak? If it aint such a big job then I will leave it for the winter as another excuse to leave the house when she does my head in....

fot the sake of taking them off the bike its easier to replace both sets and it will give you the peice of mind. i wouldnt buy seals of ebay, there cheap and youll will get what you pay for. david silver set cost me £30 but i had to buy bushes because mine were buggered. which cost £40 and then a litre of oil cost £10 for silkolene.

if you want me to do them bring them over one weekend and ill show you how to do it, i only live 1min from jct 1 M54. its a doddle and i have all the tools we could need.

ps i wont charge and i dont bite ;)

Thanks for the replies guys, I think you are right to replace the set rather than just the dust seals, as I might as well do the lot while I am there any way.

As for comin over Ricky there is a little problem with that as the bike is in Swansea at the moment, I am collecting it and riding home roughly on the 29th so need to get them replaced there mate, however your skills and non biting attitude will probably end up seeing me in the not so distant future. Only yourself to blame mate

My mate has all the tools down there so I will let you know how I get on. Any tips???
