So i'm trying to restore this NC30 on an absolute shoe string budget and need to try and get the rear wheel off my NC30 and also access the rear shock to work on it. I will also be needing to remove the rear sub frame in the not too distant future. Does anyone know of a cheap way of jacking up the bike to achieve these ends without having to fork out the money for an abba frame?

axle stands and some metal rod?

just lift it onto axel stands mate, it'll sit quite stable, fit a nice breezeblock under the sump and you can remove thr front end too

Makes it a bit difficult to take the wheel off though

I use my Oxford rear stand. I've taken out the swingarm pads and machined up a bit of square bar, about 3" length square end into the stand and the rest is machined to a 20mm diameter pin about 6" long which slides into the hub from the N/S.

Not the most stable device but it works.

why? you put the rod / stands under the frame / footrest mounts etc somewhere. peasy to get the wheel off! worth loosening it before though...

How exactly do you support it with axle stands? I've seen some pics of someone turning foot pegs upside down but i'm not sure about doing this as I don't think these are designed to be taking the full load of the bike...

put a small 10mm threaded bar/rod through the swingarm pivot joints, and use a rachet strap to lift up or a jack, when you got the wheel clear of the ground put the stands under the rods, eh voila a make shift abba stand!
