I couldn’t start a new Topic under “Members Bikes” so feel free to move this topic.

Encouraged by Alex’s and Banoffee’s stories I would like to start my own one maybe not as smart but I’ll do my best.
As I said before, I bought a brand new NC30 back in September 1992 put her into my livingroom and was happy. Engineering as its best
Spring arrived and took her out for the first ride, wondering why my wrist was hurting after a while.
A pillion ride with my wife didn’t help either.
Didn’t do a test drive before I bought her so my fault.
I sold her after just 473km to a young lady and that was it in terms of bikes for me, cars where my favorites.

Strange enough, TV series American Chopper aroused a great deal of interest in bikes again and I bought a Kawa Z1-R in summer 2006.
Four bikes later, Heidi (my NC30) joint Käthe, Berta, Nelli and Auguste to make my small collection almost complete.

The place was packed (Auguste was not even there), so I sourced the 911 out.



Now I had room for a bike lift to get Heidi on.


Started disassembling

Some parts from Jap4 came in the other day

I like weight reduction, so I want to use some alu parts where available. Alu rear frame is on my list as well.
I am a great fan of carbonfiber although I will not use it on the NC30 as I want to keep the original look.
Of course I couldn't withstand the carbon airbox , but hey it's not visible.

I have collected some more bits and pices during this week.


I like these NGK plugs although you won't see them It's just detailing as this is not
a restoration. The bike has no rust and is/was already in a very goog condition, all previous owners did realy care over the years.
I was also trying to source the mysterious fork legs/motor colour "YR-147M Max Brown Metallic" with no luck
Even "RH Lacke" could not.
Somewhere else "NH-197M-U" was mentioned and I gave it a try.

During the week I am not at home, so I will let you know next week.

I was lucky to by this ART race can, which is quiet short and much lighter than the original, weight measurement to follow.

I want to keep the bike's original look, but will change nuts and bolts to alu/titanium and keep the originals.
The can looks like a shortend original, so I think it's OK.
I also ordered TYGA headers to make it complete, they will arrive next week.

I'd been interested how the spray can paint comes out! I love the look of the larger lights! I am not keen however on the stubby exhaust! Sorry! The original can is long and round where as the stubby is oval. In my opinion oval cans just don't look right on an NC, I would have gone for a Tyga carbon can personally!

Hi there! Nice write up of all your named bikes

I mentioned about the RH lacke somewhere earlier on this forum. I bought some paint from local Honda dealer, they ordered it from RH Lacke. Their website shows a lot of color codes of most Japanese bikes and European bikes (maybe interesting for all members to cross-check). Would like to see the results of your spray cans.
