Hello,
if a simple question.
Someone told me it might also be possible to remove the swingarm insted of the engine if i want to change the collectorbox.
Is it true?
Did anyone try it yet ?

Not sure if that is possible, mine just fell off

I'm modifying it so that the joints to the rear headers are detatchable.

I think that should work.
Probably same amount of work as removing engine though.

Don't think that'll work and here's why -
Even if you can get the header bolts out, I don't think there's enough room between the motor and the frame to get the pipes out.
Sorry dude.
And as Neo said - it probably is as much work or more to get that far in.

It would be as much work getting the shock etc out.
I can't see the picture (maybe it is becuase i'm at work, will check later)
it is hard to visualise today (i'm half alseep) what the engine would look like with the swinging arm off.. could well hit the frame as said above :)
Thinking it might do.. seeing as it is there is never two options to remove collectorbox only engine out

Have to agree with Spoonerman, I tried taking the swing arm off and removing the headers (I was doing that anyway so no loss), there's just not the room, I even hacksawed through the down pipes thinking I could form some sort of sleeved joint on the replacements. Unfortunately even sawn through I could only get one of the dismembered down pipes out

. Engine out was the only way for me

On the brighterside, I now have a clean engine with a clean frame, even the bits you can't get to without removal
