hey guys i desperatley need the thread and pitch size of the rear wheel nut, as i have done a search on goodle and on here and i cant seem to find what im after.

im off to the fasteners today and im keen to see what they have or can get for me.

im shocked to have found wheel nuts for the suzuki bandit for a mate at the grand total of 22p! in A2 stainless

going in van, bike is on paddock stand so will do that, but that means ill have to order and then go back whereas if i call they can get it in this afternoon!

ive just got the part number and whacked it into DSS, and im gobsmacked at £20 for the genuine part!

what torque setting should the nut be at out of curiosity?

off the top of y head the torque is 160nm?? A lot...

£20 for a shiny nut is not too bad..well..it is harsh but unless you can get something at least as good then beware spending 50p on something so fundamental to your bike working or throwing you into the weeds!

whats the difference with a 50p nut and a £20 honda one? both nuts manufactured the same way just without the price tag!

i use this fastner company all the time just give them the thread size etc and they get it at trade cost as i have an account!

Yes & No.

A lot of parts are Honda specific, there may be an equivalent generic part available that can be used, but the Honda part will be more expensive due to being made in smaller quantities.

The quality of 3rd party bits can vary from OE spec to awful.

i.e. My Extra Long SnapOn Philips #1 was over £40.00 but I can get a chinese Philips #1 for 50p from tool shop.

I think what Mark is saying is just be wary of really cheap bits that are not from Honda, not all quality is alike :)

Don't let that put you off though.. there are plenty of reputable good quality sellers out there who will supply nuts and bolts that are of equal or better construction than the Honda counterpart. :)

oh and a more relevant example would be screws... I've seen boxes of cheap Philips screws where the heads come off if a little torque is applied... there more like decoration screws :D
