Raised rear & bike leaning over too much?

Over the last couple of days I raised the rear on my roadbike (by shortening the lower link attachment) which worked great, but the bike leaned over way too much for my liking when on the sidestand. It looked sh!t and would be pretty iffy on soft surfaces. I had overlooked this as it's the only bike I use a sidestand on..... not happy.

Solution: I fitted an NC29 sidestand I coincidentally had lying around, it bolted straight up and now the bike sits great on the stand!

I hope someone out there can use this info, I'm sure there are plenty of stands available judging by all the NC29 racebikes around.

Nice!!

Both my project bikes lean over nearly on the floor! I have to carry a resevoir cap around with me to put under the stand!

Just as a matter of interest, what length is the 29 stsnad? Im just wondering as i might have clearnce issues against my exhaust when the stand is flipped up!!

Kris, the nc29 stand is 'about' (difficult to measure accurately) 10mm longer than the nc30 stand.

The nc29 stand hits my standard nc35 system when up (the std nc30 stand did also on my nc35 system), I don't mind it but you could always weld something onto it to stop it going up so high, easier than lengthening the std stand.

It might not hit the exhaust if the nc30 stand already doesn't, interested to hear some feedback on this.

The bike looked crap when leaned so far over on the sidestand, this cleans the stance up nicely. Poser and all...

Ah!

I think the NC24 side-stand it longer than the 30 one too...

It's always the simple things that get over looked. Nice one cammo :peace: Seems you have found a very simple but very effective fix.
Get that man a beer
