Hi, I'm having trouble with my nc29. First of all it had a bad misfire and I eventually found the tps was knackered so I replaced that and misfire went. Then I found that my bike had the 5000 rpm limiter on. I've now fitted a bypass to this and bike revs fine now. Problem now is the bike accelerates no problem upto around 80mph then it seems to go flat. No matter what gear I'm in I can't get it past the flat spot. I've fitted new plugs and leads. I don't know whether or not I need to have tps repositioned as in the manual it says don't touch set position security screws. Due to the switch I received that was not on a bracket I just fitted it at an estimate. How can I tell if it is on incorrect, or could it be a fuel problem with carbs? Any advice would be muchly appreciated. Cheers

Hi neil, taking my TPS off it just sits in a slot on the carbs TPS bracket and no positioning needed. I suppose if you have took the carb bracket part off it may have moved. Will be taking my carbs off in the next day or two so will check it out if you dont get sorted by then.

the tps itself is slotted, when fastened to bracket it has around 5mm of movement in either direction. i have literally just bolted it on. im not sure how to set it up or what problems i may face if it is mounted wrong.

my bike seems to have this same problem!!! how did you sort the problem out??

i'm thinking it could be the fuel pump?

Have you guys checked whether your carbs are setup right and your airfilter is good etc?

my carbs have just been rebuilt and cleaned. 108 main jets 35 pilots. mixture screw is 2 turns out

it ticks over fine but at 5000rpm is really misfires and lacks power!

any ideas?

@ Nykie - yes, sounds like the Speedo is disconnected...so the CDI fires on 2 cylinders at 5.5k revs...

Oh ok is this an easy fix? i will have a look at my wiring diagram!
