hi can anyone reccomend a good base setting for forks on a 3tj racebike please.

oil type?

oil amount?

air gap?

i know there are heaps of variables, but what would you put in standard forks to make them slightly stiffer?! thanks!

same here, just had a day on track playing with the oil amounts/oil weight/air gap.

ended up pretty much the same,15w oil, standard air gap,but i have k-tec 8.5 springs in aswell.got them as good as i can for me,but the springs ar too soft for my weight.

standard settings, but as has been said before, this is designed for the jap market and so is pretty soft especially on 20 yr old shocks

fzr 400 rr 509ml of 10wt oil, 80mm from top with fork compressed and spring out

fzr 400 rrsp 433ml of 10wt oil, 106mm from top with fork compressed and spring out

manuals are in the fzr section viewtopic.php?f=35&t=846

The truth is, it's what ever works for you.

Don't want to sound like a has been, but. When racing and winning races and the 2007 championship. I had Bill from white cross tell me my suspension was well out. He adjusted it and the bike was un-ridable. I went back to what worked for me.

Lesson learnt, take what you've got, make your adjustments. In essence, see what works best for you and it's more to to with your attitide on the track than the suspension. Nail it, don't be afraid to stick it up the inside and know that 9 times out of ten at a club meet the other person will bottle it first.

Good luck and mail if you want any help..
