Help me decorate my NC35! :)

Hey guys,

Just picked up a '94 RVF400. It's very clean and runs flawlessly but I want to decorate it a little bit

Here's a pic of how it looks at the moment...

Image

Well, sort of. I just scratched the previously spotless fairings.. I know.. it's a sin.. I was not happy, believe me..

Image

Do you think I could cover it up with a sticker or something? It's not quite bad enough to warrant buying a whole new seat cowling, but it's bad enough to piss me off.. Unless I go for a Tyga tail and get a custom paint job on it.. Suggestions?

I'm in the process of putting some LED indicators on it. Was thinking maybe I should put some rim stripes on it, as well as some sponsorship stickers, but I'm the least creative person I know, so maybe you guys could help out by giving advice and/or showing me pics of similar bikes that look flash?

I was thinking of maybe putting a sticker on each side of the tank (in the white section), and then stickers under the red HONDA at the bottom of each side fairing. (NGK, Astars, Arai, RK, Motul etc..)

Could I decorate the front screen at all?

Also, does anyone use a double bubble screen? Does it help deflect much wind? And do you guys think it looks better or worse than a standard sized tinted screen?

I also want to put a new can on my bike. I currently have a stainless 'Laser' exhaust and I'm after something a bit louder and deeper. I was originally after a little slashcut exhaust such as the tyga maggot but I hear it is way too loud.. Is there another slash cut that fits the NC35 and is not quite as loud as the Maggot?

I was also looking at the carbon tyga ones.. How do they sound? Do you guys think long or short is better? Also, round or oval?

Any suggestions/advice is appreciated ;)
PS: Also, where can I get some nice bar ends from? And do you think the Tyga CNC levers would look and feel better than the standard ones? I was thinking maybe the gold ones..?

Jonno: I think you'll find that many peeps on this forum are from the 'classic as standard camp' (including me), but many people also want to modify them to the max. I reckon you can add many tasteful mods to it without it looking junk.

Here's some stuff that I reckon compliments the look (and a bit of performance) - my opinion only:

- Clear double bubble screen
- Tyga full exhaust system (and remove heat shield)
- Painted rear seat cowl
- Braided front brake lines
- Raised rear ride height via shim
- White wheels
- Adjustable levers (ebay chinese ones are cheap!)
- Some quality rearsets
- Carbon air tubes
- Etc, etc.....

Please... no anodised anything!!

I don't have any pics at hand of a bike that might inspire you (guess whos?), but trawl through the gallery section and you'll see some very nice rides.

After that you could perhaps looking at some suspension mods, and do a trackday or 2 with some cheap fibreglass fairings. :peace:

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

Will a double bubble screen make a difference with deflecting wind?

Also, are there any nice slashcut exhausts that aren't quite as loud as the Tyga maggot?

Alternatively, oval or round Tyga carbon can, and long or short? Do these Tyga carbon cans sound good?

Also, where can I get some decent bar ends from?..

Will it make a big difference or only slight?

I think double bubble screens like this one look pretty darn good..

Each to their own i spose when it comes to DB screens, personally i think it uins the shape of the front end but on the other hand unless your a midget its not easy getting behind the standard screen.

Theres been TT style screen floating about on some pics on the forum for a while thats like a DB, looks really nice but sadly the owner had no idea where it came from

Now THAT is a tastily modified RVF! :blowout:

I prefer the look of DB screens on rvf's, not a fan of tinted screens though.
