ive not really thought about this until the penny dropped when looking at some pics of DM's bike, the Nissin logo on my calipers both face in wards? is this correct or has the person who previously owned this bike got them fitted the wrong way round?

also what are the odd shapped metal lugs on the top of the caliper for? just besides where the banjo goes?

My 35 has the logos on both sides. If you can see the torx bolt heads on the calipers they are the right way round. I doubt you could fit them back to front, i dont think they would pass the wheel. I guess the metal stub by the banjo bolt it to stop the curved banjo end being turned in to far towards the wheel spokes?

My NC30 has the logos facing inwards, but the calipers on my NC35 has the logos facing outwards. Not sure what drugs Honda were on when they came up with this!!!

The nissin logo does face inwards on nc30 calipers, not one of honda's best calls.

This positions the brake lines where they should face. i.e. the lines face forwards slightly from the calipers.

The logo faces inwards because of the unusual way the calipers bolt into the lowers - that's why there aren't any calipers that you can swap them for (without going aftermarket or adaptor plates).

Your not using standard brake hoses are you Rick?

The banjos on the std hoses tighten up against these, just keeps them in the right place, if you have braided (nobody should really still be using the origianl 20 year old rubber lines now anyway) there not always of much use as the banjo shapes differ!
