Nope, that's not a euphemism...

Got the front end of the bike in bits to fit some shiny new stanchions, and figured it would be a good time to tidy up the bottom end of the forks as well.

Any ideas/contacts on how to do this/where to take them?

Is this something I can DIY? I have a bench grinder at home, so could I just get a polishing disc and try that?

Get them powdercoated if you have them in bits anyway

Will be doing the same thing next week on my stored NC30 have emailed http://www.powdercoatingessex.co.uk Got a quick response only 30 quid to powdercoat both forks, going to get the Yoke done (15 quid) and a few other bits at the same time. They where the only company out of 4 I emailed to get back to me.. Just hope they do a good job

Gonna try polishing them and see how that goes, will have time to try and go for powdercoating or similar if it's no good, as the new stanchions are gonna take a while apparently

I have found that grit blasting them works really well. I used a glass bead wet blaster (these are rare!) to give a smooth shiny finish.

After blasting I used several coats of laquer from a spray can and they look really good. Still look good several years later with no polishing.

Just an idea!
