Well,


Fitted R1 rectifier today. Before I did i tried my new battery and ignition etc was fine

Took out battery and fitted rectifier, put battery in, ignition wont come on (no neutral light, lights etc)

Now there is an oxford alarm of some sort in the bike since I got it.

Normally when you arm it it beeps twice, and once when you turn it off it beeps once

But now the alarm beeps like 3 or 4 times and 1-2 times when you turn it off (cant check for sure right now as i had to go to work)

Any ideas?

when i had a datatool alarm fitted to my ninja you had to put it in to 'service mode' before removing the battery or it would think someone is trying to disconnect the battery to turn the alarm of so they could nick it.

so when you reconnected it, i would have to enter my security pin manually to reset the system. could be different on your oxford though, look for the model on the unit ( normally on the siren ) slap it into google or speak to oxford direct.

my alarm was a pain in arse most of the time so i ditched it, i no have a cheap £15 one off ebay that uses a 9v battery. does just as good a job, i do not get a reduction in my premium as it is not a 'thatcham' alarm - but that discount never did cover the cost of the alarm for the 3 years i had it fitted.
