NC30 + RS250 Rear Shock Advice

I'm just about to buy an RS250 rear shock that was previously fitted to another NC.
The previous rider was about 12 stone, now my question is, as I am a slightly fat bas•@rd at 14 stone, would I overwhelm the shock? Would it need to be re-re sprung for my fat ass???
Cheers, Graham

You'll have to ride it and see...depends what the previous spring is. You might have enough preload left to sort it out.

If not, springs are fairly cheap...

Graham.

Ive got a rs250 shock that sa service/overhaul and a new spring. I think you can get all this done for about 120quid. I only want 45quid including postage (what i paid for it) this way you can get it set up exactly for your requirements. Or alternatively there is a proflex shock on ebay for sale.

Regards
Kris

Is it the ride height adjustable rs shock? can you suggest somewhere to get it sorted that understands is for an nc and not an rs?
Looked at the proflex, but I think that one might be a bit of overkill for me!

Does anyone know if the non-height adjustable rs shocks are longer than the nc shock? I.e raise the ride height at all?

Ok so bought that, now can anyone point me in the direction of a suspension place that can refresh, add the extra shim I've been told it needs and a new spring to suit a fat bast@rd, preferably a place thats done an RS/NC conversion before??

Ok, just rung that Brook suspension place and they quoted me £250 to respring, refresh and add a shim. Is that expensive or is that about right???

expensive..

You want a spring = £50 - buy it online if you want to.
refresh - £75 ish
fitting another shim, should be no worries as the shock is in bits being resealed and oiled....

Brooks are taking the piss

Why not use one of the local racer types? Steve Jordans? MCT? K-Tech? Maxton?

Get a quote off all these guys
