hi
i bought an rvf 400 nc35 about a week ago and it was a race bike and im converting it back to a road bike
anyway i have taken the air filter box off and carbs and i found the wireing loom
but one of the cables has been cut and im not sure what its for
it has a green plug with 3 wires, one green, one green/white stripe and one yellow/black stripe. the cable goes to the lhs of the bike near the gear lever i think.
every thing on the bike works except the horn. im not sure about the temp gauge as i havent left the bike on long enuff for it to get hot ect ect
would be nice to see were this cable is suppose to go so i can re wire it
thanks alex

You need a haynes manual! Has the wiring diagram and plenty of other useful info.

The wiring you're talking about (looking at the haynes...) is the sidestand switch. It's probably been bypassed in a track bike so it can be removed and you're still able to start the bike.

You can usually tell if the temp gauge is working by turning the ignition on - it should move up slightly to a 'cold' position when it gets power.
