Hi guys.
As some of you might know, i am working on my nc24 to get it onto the road.

Just a few questions:
After taking the tank off to get ready for paint i noticed the fuel tap has the main fuell outlet and one small vac pipe that acts upon the diagphram to open the tap for fuel.
However, there is another connection on the opposite side of the diagphram to the vac pipe but this is balnked off with a small piece of pipe sealed with a cable tie...
Where should this be connected??

***and if anybody has experianced high ideling but stalling when idle screw adjusted, try looking at the diagphram of the fuel tap, if this is miss fitted (like mine was) or has a hole in it, the engine will be pulling in un mixtured fuel from the vac pipe.****

Can anybody suggest a good supplier of fork oil seals?? and maybe a link to instructions as to how to do this..

and finally, i will be replacing the tyres. At the moment it has a 140/70/18 tyre on the rear, i know this is larger than standard, but is there any problems with using a slightly larger tyre??

Oh, and how on earth do you raise the bike to get the wheels off?? front is no problem, but i havent found a supplier of a stand for single swing arm..

Thansk in advance for any suggestions and help.

Chris

I believe that pipe should be open as it's a breather of some sort, loose the sealed pipe.

Go for OEM stuff, in which case David Silver Spares is your friend

I'm told you'll loose some of the bikes flickability, can't answer for that myself as I'm quite happy to follow Honda San's recommendations of a 130/70 18"

I'd recommend an Abba superbike stand, just google it, but there are others who manufacture a single sided paddock stand, they quite often come up on ebay, just keep an eye out

I think you also asked about overhauling the forks, TBH it's been done to death here and on other forums, just do a search here you will find loads and loads of info ;)

Thanks Ian.

Very helpful, especially the stand!

I maybe should have mentioned, if the pipe on the fuel tap i spoke of is not blocked, it dribbles fuel out rather quickly... so leaving it vented isnt an option!

any ideas??

Many thanks
Chris

Sounds like your diaphrams broken (ie hole in it) and it's leaking fuel.

Fuel shouldnt' come out of it.

PS I repleid to the duplicate thread in the General section

Thanks.
I realised I had posted in the wrong section.
I've had the diaphragm in pieces and its not split.
The pipe which connects to the vac is ok, with no leaks. But there is another connection on the other side of the diaphragm. on my bike This is where there is a blanking tube, and if I remove it, it dribbled fuel.
This is what I would regard as the primary side of the diaphragm, ie, wet, as it is on the fuel side, rather than the secondary side of the diaphragm wich is meant to be dry and connected to the vacuum.
Well, where is this meant to connect? It is not the vac pipe.

Many thanks guys
Chris.

Oh the other thread has disappeared! Along with my reply :(

It's a breather pipe, it allows the diaphram to move easy. It doesn't connect anywhere or have a pipe on it as standard.
