Hi, I have a GK76A which is an import, i dont know if they are all imported or what but anyway, its never broken 120mph no matter how hard i've tried & i try alot lol.. shhh.. i dint say that lol.

Anyway ive always been told gixa's were one of the quickest 400's you can get but 120mph doesnt seem very special and im sure it should do at least 130mph so am i right in saying that and if so, does that mean its restricted??? And how do i un-restrict it :)

Any help appeciated :)

Hi

My first post on this forum. Just bought a GX73A and I understand they were not restricted? Apart from performance how can I tell if it is restricted? Thanks for any comments.

Apologies if this is a topic that comes up every two weeks.

Its been ages since i originately put this post up about it being restricted & completely forgot to continue finding out..

It pulls all the way up the clock but then stops dead on 110mph so im assuming that means its restricted in some way. Its not restricted on the carbs so any ideas what else is restricting it???

It's an electronic speed limiter on the speedo, see here for a guide on how to derestrict your bike. viewtopic.php?f=53&t=166&start=10

Thanks for that, very interesting reading, dont understand most of i but what i did understand is good lol. Which is the best method of de-restriction?? VVS's idea of disconnecting the green wire between the CDI & gear switch, running the CDI thru a 1.5k ohm resister and then earthing it & leaving the selector out seems the simplest method to me. The top idea on the topic probably works the best but it seems quite and i dont really wana mess it up and end up with no bike at all. Maybe i could find a spare gear switch to try it on....

Thanks for the link tho :)
