does any one know rougthly what the prices are for big end bearings are nc30, they seem to be o.k but if there cheap il replace em while the engine is stripped. also there seems to be some slack on the chain that drives the oil pump, is this norm?

A little slack is normal, you just don't want so much in there that it jumps off the cogs!
