nc24 vac fuel pipe

Hi all.
My names David in sunny (at the mo) Norfolk and I've been asked to sort a non running nc24.
I lifted the tank to find the vac pipes to the fuel tap are not connected. Having sucked on the pipe to the tank and not getting a mouth full of petrol was enough to get some fuel into the carbs and it runs. I've had a good look around the carbs and inlet rubbers with no luck as to where the dam thing connects so a little pointer from you experienced owners would be a great help.

David.

There should be a spigot on the fuel tap under the tank, the large spigot on the outside is the fuel line to the carbs, the centre spigot is a breather which should be open to the air and the other side is the vacuum line mount.

Thanks for that but it's the other end of the vac pipe I'm after. As it's need a vacuum I'm assuming it should connect to the inlet tubes or carbs. Could be where I'm going wrong possibly?

It mounts just below the inlet on the right rear cylinder on the NC30 - I assume it's the same on the NC24? You should be able to spot a little spigot if you shine a torch in there.

The nc30 vacuum pipe connect to a small spigot on the inlet manifold facing forward under the right rear carb, the nc24 might be similar.

I think you can attach it with the carbs still on the engine but not too sure. Your best bet might be to take all the bodywork off and have a look with a torch (from both sides of the bike).

Ok...

The Spigot is located half way up the outside of cylinder #2 on the NC24.. this is the rear left when sitting on the bike.

It's awkard to get to and you might not see it as the frame tends to block its view.. but it is there :)

These pipes tend to go fragile from the heat so you might want to replace the whole pipe.

I'm pretty sure the middle spigot on the fuel tap is the one that you connect the vaccumn pipe too though.. the outermost spigot is a breather to let the diagphram move. (I'll have to check on this)
