Yet ANOTHER Hybrid related topic.....

Firstly, sorry for starting another thread on this one guys, but i've had a good look through the others and i'm not really finding the answers i'm looking for.

Ok, i've managed to get my hands on a T-cat motor for my 3TJ transplant. At the moment i'm not totally sure what else i'll need (picking it up tomorrow) but what i'm struggling to decided is what to do about the electrics.

Do i stick with the 400 loom and do a mod to fit the Cat ECU?

What about the TPS on the Cat carbs?

Does the rest of the 400 electrics work for bigger motor (i'm thinking mainly around the alternator/coils etc...)?

Can i stick with the 400 clocks?

I think that's about it for the moment.......likely to kep asking more hybrid related stuff as the transplant commences

Use the Foxeye CDI it doesn't need the throttle senser.
You can use the 400 loom but if you check e-bay you can find a T'Cat or Foxeye loom for around £15.
Change the coils

I've got Cat carbs, so if i use a Foxeye loom i assume i just leave the TPS disconected?

Righto ;)

So, i'll keep my eye open for a Foxeye loom and CDI, if not i'll patch the Foxeye CDI into the 400 loom. With the Foxeye loom, will the 400 clocks be ok, or should i get 600 ones?

You can use either but the 600 ones will be in MPH and the red line on the Tacho will suit the engine

Its for a track bike so i've junked the speedo. I'll consider some 600 clocks but i can just mark up the current tacho with where the redline should be for the time being...

......which leads me to ask - what is the rev limit for a T-cat?
