as above my new track bike revs out in lower gears but stops dead at 13k in 3rd and above.
any idea's?
i dont think they have gear position sensors do they?
speedo has no cable/drive.

unless you have a derestricted cdi or mmax box you'll need a signal from the speedo (need the cable attached)
as it will limit revs.

It does sound like a speed restrictor .... have a look through seach and get your CDI derestricted

i thought the speedo would have to be connected to trigger the restriction?
surely if the bike does'nt know how fast it's going it cant limit the power?
i stuck the bike on ACE MOTORCYCLES dyno today and it's definitely dropping the power to a coil at 13k revs, but it revs out in first and second, i reckon it's an ecu fault, the pick up was getting it's signal from the ecu and not the coils so it's probably there.
so this brings me round to wanting an ecu if any one has one?

No - the ECU has to recieve a signal from the speedo at 0 kmh and then needs to register that the bikes moving. Otherwise it restricts the way you found.

For a race bike you can also use a M-Max box .... but I'd get the ECU molested

Evil is right! I'd de-restrict the cdi. The Japs are clever but so am I !

so if evil is right does that mean you cant get a full power dyno run (the front wheel is not moving)
and what about the first and second gear rev out?
also very interested in bendys de restriction but this was meant to have been done already so i'm really after another ecu just to plug in and see whats going on before i spend money on a possibly faulty part.
anyone have a spare i could try?

mr evilchicken sold me an m max and i finally got round to trying it out today, rev's out in every gear!
now i have to set about sorting the fuelling, richer than bill gates, what air filters do you guys recommend?

Use the K+N for the 1WG and squash it down a bit to fit in the airbox.
