1wg R6 shock dog bone length

I'm sure this has been done to death but does anybody know what length dog bones are required to return the ride height to normal?
I have a 2tk the shock is 305mm eye to eye and the r6 one is about 10mm shorter at 295mm.
The standard dog bones are 150mm ish.
Given these details what time will the train leaving from epping arrive at its destination?
or something like that...
cheers martin

I think the bike sits approx 20mm lower on the 3en models so you can order a +25mm jack up kit and be about right.

'Ish' isn't really enough to go on

You need to know what the original ride height with the standard bits is first, exactly how long the original dogbones are and work from there. If the 2TK ones are
exactly 150mm, I'd try 142mm. That'd give you around a 20mm lift at the back. Do you need some making up? I've got some suitable alloy that I could make you a couple of pairs in slightly different lengths to have a try with but an extension on the shock would be better, to bring it back to the correct length. Significantly shorter dogbones make the linkage work slightly differently.

kayla850 is probably right, i've just fitted an R6 shock in my 3tj, it came with the adaptor to bring it back to the 3tj shock length and this saves messin with the dog bones, i can post some pics if you like, i'm not sure the dimensions would be the same for a 2tk though, fabricating an extension bracket is probably harder than dog bones but it keeps the geometry the same just measure the old shock centre to centre then the r6 shock and the difference is the size of the bracket needed

Thanks for all the help so far everyone.
I'm going to have a bit of a play around tomorrow (friday) and find out how much i'm going to lose ride height wise. I'll figure out how much i need to shorten the dog bones by and go from there. The originals are exactly 150. SV650 2nd gen ones are 143-145 so i may be able to use one of those, either that or i may just take you up on your offer kayla. We'll see.
I had half considered possibly using an lengthenaing adaptor but its only 10mm too short, so i'm not sure i have the space for one like that. Just as an aside to this why dont people use a longer top mount on 3tj's with r6 shocks? They are the threaded type right?
cheers
martin.

How long are TRX tie rods ???
A 20mm extension might not be long enough to get both mounting bolts in.
3TJ can be jacked at the back but I think the shape of the shock means it's better to extend the bottom ... I'm probably wrong though. You'd only jack the back of the bike higher than standard to change the front / rear weight bias putting more over the front making the bike turn faster. That might be good on a race bike but not so good for a road bike, the FZR's have nice handling to begin with.

182mm. Far too long unless you want to build a 3TJ chop

FZR tie rods are quite short, compared to other Yamaha stuff anyway.

not sure Boris, they were fitted alongside a later shock I believe on a track bike, I,ll measure them anyway this lunchtime.
