Securing an Almax chain

I'm moving to a new place at the end of the month where i won't have a garage anymore so i've invested in a bike cover and an Almax chain.
I probably won't be able to use a ground anchor as the place is rented (i will ask the landlord though) and was wondering where the best place to thread the chain is on an NC-30 without leaving i hanging on the floor?
At the moment it's just a bit too short to loop through the back wheel and over the seat, plus i'm worried that method would scratch the panels. Anyone got any advice?

Ground anchor FTW
They can be removed and all you'll see is two blobs of gobboe that you cover the holes with. The landlord won't mind I am sure.
If your bike is going to get stolen it will be picked up and thrown in a van. Sticking a chain over the seat through the wheel is not going to stop anything...

Torc Anchors do some WICKED stuff!
Their chain is just like the Almax.. they also do a 'pinch pin' that goes through the hole in the rear wheel swining-arm
They do a walll mounted bracket too
You might find some good products there!

I used a ground anchor fixed into a concrete slab. You MUST fix it to something solid, any bike thief will have a couple of mates and just pick it up and carry it away no matter how many chains there are on it.

Get an anchor fitted, then tell the landlord about it... if he doesn't like it, he'll have to take it out...
Seriously, a bike cover is the best security device you can use. My ex swears by 'em.

bike covers reduce theft of bikes by somthing like 60%, when i lived in a flat my bike was constantly gettin looks as people went past even people stopping and lookin round the bike , invested in a oxford stormex , quite expensive for a cover around £65 , then after that no one even batted an eyelid i gues its a case of out of site out of mind

Thanks for this tip, had a look on their site and enquired about the Pinchpin. It won't go through the rear wheel on the NC30 but they had a pic of one going through the frame behind the radiator and through the side panels. Apparently they only had the pre production sample of that size pin left but offered it to me for £40.
Ordered it and it fits and works brilliantly. Would recommend their stuff if they started producing this length pin again

Yeah I use one with their chain through the engine when im out and about :-)
Nothings going to ever stop a determined theif with a petrol grinder and a van etc but you can always slow them down / make them move onto something else :D
