first of all i have no idea about the front forks and adjustments so hopefully someone can give me some guidance,
when i go over small humps or dents in the road my front end is very 'clunky' as if i just hit a big pothole, ive had the front up and there doesnt seem to be any play there so im gessing its my forks
what i want to know is can i adjust the settings on the forks to help stop this?
i just havent got a clue with the adjusments etc
thanks in advance

thanks for the reply, just took the bike for mot and it failed on front brakes binding a bit and said wheel bairing looks knackered, ordered bairings and got them next day delivery at 11 quid for both delivered, pity i didnt take pics but it was completely shot took bearings out and the hub on the front wheel was full of water :o . replaced and cleaned pistons on caliper and all good and passed, but noticed clunk is there when braking feels like head bearing but by testing at standstill is ok? mountings are not loose on mud guard!!! could it still be head bearing?
and when cornering the back end bounces like a child on a bouncing castle can i adjust anything to make it harder on rear shockl?
p.s im from blaenau ffestiniog/betws y coed area

let me know if you get to the bottom of this as my bike has exactly the same problem. Feels clunky under braking, yet the brakes/head bearings and everything else I can think of have been replaced.

Hey Guys, mine too has this same sounding symptom. Theres absolutely no play in the headstock bearings that i can tell, but there is a definate feeling of some 'play' when braking to a stop.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I have sorted my head bearings, the brakes are straight and true. The only thing I can think of is my forks are finally due a rebuild. Time to strip the bike back down again.

:plus: for the front mudgurad mounts.

Flip the wire circlip off lift the guard and mounts up, put a smear of silicone inside the mount rings and refit.

Have you put the bike up on a stand so the front wheel is free and checked for any play?
