Hi my NC23 has being stood for about six months charged battery up today and she started first turn but its making a ticking sound sounds like tappets and doesn't want to run without choke being on it ran fine last time i rode it just woundered what to check and if i could do damaged if i kept it running?

as a guess

i would say that after 6 months all the oil has drained into the sump

my bike has been stood for about 6 months , also a NC23

i am going to prime the oil system by turning the motor over with the kill switch tuned to the OFF position

when the oil pressure light goes out the system should be primed , i will do this two or three time to be safe

then i will start the bike and leave it to warm up for about 10 mins before riding it

p.s...i take no responsibility if your bike blows up...it has worked for my oil cooled GSXR for the last three years but this is my first NC23

Is it not due an oil change? I would do that before running it. And priming it as little one says is a good idea.
