Hi all,

i took the rear subframe off to have painted and now the bike wont start, i have checked all earths to make sure the subframe wasnt restictign this but its fine,

The bike seems to want to start but just wont fire fully, could this be the rear coil pack ?

i can only assume this as i hae only removed this and the reg/rec

Silly question but did you remove the tank during your strip down? If so did you remember to reconnect the vacume pipe from the crank case to the fuel tap?

Long shot i know but having wasted hours myself with that one - always worth a check.

I had the exactly the same problem when i took my bike appart, on mine i would look at the plug's coming off the CDI unit, if there all connected then look at the HT leads, see if there arking out. if not it will be the plug's.

Hope this help's :peace:

hi

it was all fine until i took the frame off, tankwas not removed

cdi and coils all disconnected,

i did try to start the bike before i realised that i had not connected the cdi ( idiot )

it was after this that i connected the cdi and then the problem started that it would almost fire but just wont.

could it be that i have flooded the bike so bad ( when the cdi was unplaugged ) that i have killed the plugs ?

i have checked the plugs and they were wet ( oil / fuel )

if so, when replacing the plugs how do i dry out the cylinders is they are full of fuel ??

Take the plugs out and turn it over - any large amounts of fuel will shoot out the spark holes..

Leave it for a bit to let it dry out.

Good bet that you have killed your plugs..

Also check you have connected the coil wires to the coil on there correct spade. they are colour coordinated.

Edge.

i have been told that i should be able to clean the plugs with carb cleaner and a wire brush, will this work ?
