I used to love (no not like that you perve ) Castrol chain wax but they've stopped making it. Dried to, well a wax, not much fling and didn't go all sticky/shitty quickly. The stuff that's replaced it (racing chain lube) is shit.

Any recommendations for a similar product?

I've always stuck with Profi Dry Lude. Not sure how it works seeing as it's 'dry', but I've used it the last 5 or so years and I get good mileage out of the chain and sprockets.

They don't make it anymore? I used the last of a can over the weekend on my laid-up bikes to stop the chain going rusty.

I really don't like it for road-bike though, Even though you don't need to lube the outside of the plates I like to apply a thin coat to stop surface rust but chainwax tends to attracts a lot of dirt-grease / dust and goes mankey looking really quick.. Can't beat some gearbox oil ;)

Theres loads of it on ebay cheap though :)

Says chain lube in the description of this cheapest one so i'd check with the seller, but if it floats your boat at £3 a can it's cheap.

Worth dry lube is good , but at the mo im using a silkolene one, spray it on a warm chain and leave over night , dosnt tend to fling much , i hold a rag under the chain in the palm of my hand and spray the inside of the bottom run, and use the rag to wipe and clean as i spray the fresh lube acts like a cleaner as you wipe so gets your gold chain back to bling again ,
