have done the shims balenced the carbs changed the oil new air filter re jeted crrbs and drilled slides still less then ideal throttle response .......when you wind it up it revs but the initial twist is un-impressive am i just expecting a bit much from this little v4 or is there a cure

Depends what your comparing it too.

2008 Fuel Injected CBR1000RR, yes you're expecting too much.

1952 Carbed BSA A10 Golden Flash: Should be more revvier.

It should rev freely and cleanly from start to end, if it's bogging under initial throttle you may need to play with float heights and pilot screws to get the optimum mixture.

How quick it picks up though won't be as quick as a modern fuel injected inline 4.

A video of your bike would help :)

yeah on initial pull of throttle to me it seems like someone is holding their hand over the air intake but once it starts to rev after 4000 say it revs cleanly to the redline
i have a photobucket account but how do i post a video ???????????????????????????????
