I was looking into some data this evening and I found this one... :geek:

Image

It was an standard NC35 cable wired & operated clutch handle that is now converted into a fluid operated clutch!!!

Anyone know what is involved in this? But best to ask first...Anyone done this mod before on their NC35 or NC30??

Picture shows that is possible...with some Brembo clutch.

Anymore pics of this bike. In regard to this clutch conversion, i have heard of replacing hydraulic clutches with cable versions like my yzf has had done and is far better for it, but very rarely the other way around. Would be interesting to see how this was done on the little nc.

yes, pics are in the gallery section (you've found it already :peace: ).

Never heard of such mod. Found this picture and the NC35 and when looking closer it appears it has this clutch conversion. (I'll reckon nobody on here has done this mod on his/her NC35 before....)

Haha!

Well yes it does, sort of. The resevoir and cable are no problem to use, you can even use a VFR750 resevoir etc.

The slave cylinder (that presses the clutch in) bolts to the sprocket cover.. fortuantly since both the NC21/24 and NC30/35 are based on the same engine (NC13E) the sprocket covers are interchangable... you'll need to do a bit of bodging between the pair tho as the NC21 drives the speedo from the wheel, the NC30 drives its speedo from the sprocket.

Apart from the sprocket cover / slave cylinder.. clutch resevoir / lever and cable thats all you need.. ooh you'll need the clutch pushrod too as it's slightly longer.

NC21.. can see the hole where the slave cylinder bolts.

NC30 with speedo drive hole.

VFR750 clutch lever... I have one of these along with the matching brake lever / cylinder as i like the self-contained look.

fwiw my NC24's have been converted to hydraulic clutches.

If your using 2nd hand equipment the slave cylinder comes apart easy enough to make sure it's clean. (worth checking) doesn't need adjusting like a cable system either works or it doesnt :-)

Damn just when I think I'm done. I may have to try this to get better clutch feel.

Neosophist, that is great info! I never ever heard of this mod for the NC35 and/or NC30's.
But now I am convinced

So guys, what do you reckon this mod will bring as for power gains...? (just kidding  )

Oh, and that cable tie....yeah, nothing to do with japanese construction, it is the italian way :sshh:
