are the exhaust gaskets at all points of connection , ie front down pipes to cyclinder head rear manifold to cylinder head and the connection to the rear manifold to downpipes all the same

Ive just replaced my downpipe to cylinder gaskets (not the 2 collector gaskets)and manifold gaskets and although the part numbers are different they are identical!

Same materials, internal and external diameter and thickness, no idea why Honda use differnt PN's!!

hrmmm well i ordered a set of 4 from D/S but knew i needed 6, wernt to sure if they were the same or not , so ordered the 2 now, now ive got the bastard job if replacin the manafold as i snapped one of the bolts on it arrrgh
cant belive i have to destroy the entire back end for the sake of one poxy bolt and armed only with a single sided p/s and no axle stands this is gunna be fun

There are a few ways you can get the bolt out.

- Soak it in lots of plus gas / blowlamp it and use some pliers if you can get a grip on it.

- Put a slightly bigger nut over the stub and weld it onto the bolt then you can undo it with a socket.

- If you can get a drill in there, i used this method when i snapped a front bolt. (much easier to get to tho) (taught by my very knowelegable uncle) tighten the chuck up on the stub and undo it slowly on the torque setting

yeah i got the pipes off the manafold ok , just the middle bolt that holds the rear down pipes to the manafold sheard right off when i was undoin it so now i have to replace the manafold to one that has 3 bolts(thanks geoff33 yet again for sendin me one) so i can put it all back together, but getting the old manafold off is summit of a mission or what!!
ive only a single sided paddock , on the hunt for some axle stands now so i can remove the shock to gain access arrrgh
all for the sake of a 20p bolt

update yay!!! ive managed to cut the offending stub that remains of the bolt off and drill thru the hole, found a sutable bolt to go thru so jobs a goodun , quick fix but will change the manafold over in the near future when i do the swingarm bearings , next job on the list

the 2 gaskets i removed from the manafold are diffrent , much thinner and more like washers than the thicker gaskets for the front downpipes

Yeah, I seem to remember that they are different. I ordered a full gasket set for my NC24 from Japan but when it came it was an NC30 set.
