Ok, now i've calmed down enough to type, without every other word starting with F , i need help big time.

Not sure how this has happened but whilst trying to undo the front sprocket nut to change sprocket, my cut-away sprocket cover has shifted, tearing the mount on the crankcase and in the process the clutch push rod has snapped into a couple of bits and the crankcase has sheared off

Now, i'm not too concerned about the cover and the bit of crankcase that has sheared off as it's only a mount and can be repaired but whats the deal with the push rod?

How do i get the rest of the push rod out? Is it a case of removing the clutch assembly and getting at it that way. I've not got a service manual that i can refer to, and the downloadable one is pretty fuzzy so thats no help either. I'll obviously need a new push rod, are these easy to get hold of?

Engine is a 3TJ by the way, not that it makes much odds.

I assume that means the rod isn't attached to anything at the other end, and a simple magnet thingy will tease it out?

If so, then its not as bad a problem as i thought

Oh, i forgot to mention that the sprocket nut still refuses to budge
I'm right in thinking that it's threaded as per normal, i.e. to loosed turn counter clockwise............yes? If so, i'm going to need more leverage!!!

You need an air ratchet to undo the nut .... it's not the amount of force its the shock that breaks the torque on these ....

Blimey, no chance then of shifting it then!

I've got an impact driver so i'll give it damn good spanking with that to see if it'll shift.

Going back to the push rod issue, will the magnet trick work?

I've placed a wanted ad to see if anyone has a rod but i'm not holding out much hope. Where's the best place to get a new one, i'd guess Fowlers?

Drain oil and remove clutch cover and take of out clutch springs and pressure plate. Now remove the circular bit in the centre of the clutch basket, no need to remove clutch plates. be carfull while taking it out for there is a ball bearing behind remove this with magnet. now with a tent peg push rod out from this end.... and vallar the push rod reapears the other end. If you need a push rod I have one spare at home... just call it a helping hand for £10 posted

Pm me if in need.... The only way i know this works is for it happened to me also replace the seal afterwards for peace of mind.
