Hiya All,

RE:NC29 - New rear shock - where do I put remote reseviour?

I'm looking at the back of the bike, and I'm a bit stumped about the best place to put the remote reseviour.

Can you advise on the best place? or Places?

If ordering from Maxtons etc. Do I need to specific Hose length etc? Any tips on this?

Hope you can advise

Cheers
Martin

Hello Martin,if you are buying from Maxton ask to speak to Richard. He has all the info you will need for a 29.My remote is mounted on the seat subframe,he knows the angle of the pipe, length etc.

Thanks Race! 8-)

Seat Subframe? Is that behind the side panels then? Easy to fit, or a bit tight all around?

How much will I be looking at paying - if you don't mind me asking? :P

Hi Race,

By the way,

Can you possibly post photos?

It would be great to see what a Maxton shock looks like on bike! and how the Remote Reseviour is situated.

Cheers

Theres another thread on here from chrisja2,he has some pics of his bike which would help.If its a road bike I would go for a Maxton road shock, not sure but I dont think it has a resevoir, you could spend the money you saved on having the forks done there and really make a difference. You might have noticed I am a bit biased towards Maxton,I have used them for years, but other shocks are available.I believe.

Oh right!

So for a road bike, to scratch around the twisties with, a remote reseviour may be a bit OTT?

Cool - I'll look into ones with no Remote reseviour then, Thanks Race

Get some new springs and oil in the front forks or get someone to do it for you and set it for your weight/ riding style

I fitted an Ohlins 600 shock on my 29 and put the reservoir thing under the fuel tank cable tied to the frame sits nicely, if that helps? If i was gonna get new forks or something to improve them what do you recommend?
