Well its taken the best part of 10 months and wouldn't have been possible without all the help and advice I've received from everyone on here. It started in March 2009 like this





and then after a month of fettling it looked a bit like this



Then I deceided it needed an outing on track at Knockhill so after a bit of work she was ready to go




Then having had a hoot on two trackdays the serious work began. I decided to tidy the old bike up a bit and with the exception of a black riders seat shes now all finished... Had to take a few pics yesterday to show it off! Its had :

Wheels newly powdercoated
Calipers stripped and serviced
New Brake pads all round
New Battery
New Coils
Carbs Stripped, Cleaned, rebuillt with new seals and balanced
Braided front hoses
Fork seals/ dust seals and brand new Rick Oliver Fork Upgrade Kit
Fully Seviced New Plugs, Filters, Brake fluid, Radiators cleaned and flushed including 16k Valve Clearance check
New DID Chain and Sprockets
All linkages stripped cleaned and regreased
Brake Master Cylinder servive/ upgrade
New Bridgestone BT092 tyres front and rear
Speedo conversion to MPH
Brand new fairing/ plastics












I'm absolutely delighted with the end result and have enjoyed every minute of the restoration... So much so that I'm about to start all over again! This wee beauty is now up for sale and the next project beckons!! Thanks to everyone for the advice and a especially Rick O for advice and parts! Cheers

looks very tidy mate but not sure on the anodised wheel spacer, id strip it back and polish it but each to their own

Am too interested to hear about the fairing quality.

Didnt pay much attention to the spacer but see what you mean now its pointed out!!! They are the chinese fairings and have been the source of much debate. My honest opinion is for £300 quid painted and delivered they are good value. They take a bit of fitting and aren't simply a case of bolting them oin but if you are prepared to put the effort in and add a few additional mounting points they are fine. Not sure how well the paint will stand up as they do appear easily chipped making me wonder if they have used proper plastic adhesion but as I say for the money they do the job... Now off to strip the spacer!!!!

Well done Growler looks great and in my opinion the best colour scheme.Maybe a progress report on how the fairing panels
are holding up later in the year would be of interest to everyone.

Cheers guys... not sure I'll still have the bike later in the year as the plan is to sell it and start again! need to find another project but in the meantime if the right offer comes along I'll let it go.. If I do still have it I'll let you know how the fairings stand up tho..
