Taper or genuine? is it worth paying the extra for the genuine parts?

i am not sure that you can get oem tapered for the VFR400.
i used oem when i did mine.
for oil filters and pads i like to use OEM. i know they have been tested and tested and tested some more. other things i'm not that bothered tho
