not long owned my nc30, had six months or so bombing about on her , had her off the road for the last week or so doing my valve clearences, carb strip and clean , seems very daunting and i kept putting it off and off but bit the bullett and got on with it this week, strip down and rocker covers off , measured gaps / juggled shims (thanks to rick oliver for the exchange service 3 shims needed),put her all back together today , new carb rubbers, new filter, fresh coolant, carbs set 2.25 turns out on the pilots , fired up on the second push on the button with a touch of choke , all i had to do was turn down the idle speed a tad she sounds loverly yum yum , that and the sense of acheivment as doing the work myself is the best feeling ive had in yonks ,
those who are putting off doing the same , my advice is dont , get on the case your bike will love you for it and the cash saved now goes on other things she might like , i love my bike and now she loves me , yay

Good arrows. It does feel great knowing that you put the effort in to sort your own bike out.

You reckon some twonk in a shop would have checked, double checked and then checked again...and made sure all was super perfect? I doubt it in most cases...

Your bike will love you for it too...
