Spark plugs NC29

Just striped my bike to service it and clean it up I was after some info on changing the plugs.

1. whats a good set of plugs for it.

2. whats the socket size for the plugs

3. I have the petrol tank off but it looks awkward to get into the plugs is there an easy way to do it or special tool.

from memory i think you need cr8eh-9 sparkplugs - Don't hold me to it though.
Don't own a nc29 so i can't help with the other probs

tank off
air box off
coils off
duct tape the rubber skirt out the way
easy access....

or do it the haynes way and never get the job done and end up with no skin on your knuckles!

Don't listen to her. I maintain I can get the plugs out the haynes way faster than LP could get them out her way. With all my skin intact.

If it wasn't for a massive ocean I'd be up for a timed challenge.

I'm afraid I'm with Greggo on this one, drop the rad down out the way and get at them from the front. Monkey fingers and a bit of wiggling and its a 15 minute job.

It takes about 5 minutes to remove the Tank and Air box.
Either way, its not the hardest job to do, Just make sure you have various extension bars and what not.

IIRC its a 13mm socket, Please don't quote me though, the plugs I took out of mine, 3 of them were 13mm and one was 17mm.

Anyway, I'm using NGK plugs.
The way I changed them was.

Tank off,
Air box off,
Duct tape the rubber skirt up out of the way,
remove HT leads but remember which ones came off where. Its quite simple but an easy mistake to make.

Now if you dont have a proper Spark plug socket with the rubber inside which "grips" the plug, You will need to put some tape/bluetac inside the socket you are going to use, Either that or have one of those telescopic magnet things handy.

drop your socket down into the spark plug hole, Then get an extension bar which will reach the socket, But fit between the frame and engine.

Now attach your ratchet, and undo the plug, Once its undone, its a case of getting the socket and plug out of the hole.
depending on what length extension bar you have, it will come right out on the socket.

By the way, the middle 2 plugs are the easiest, And the outer two can be a pain because the frame banks inwards across the front of the engine.

Thanks for the advice i'll get right on it. I already have the tank and air box off so i'll give it a go.
