Disabling speed limiter on NC31 - problems!

Hi all,
I'm currently moseying around my lady friend's Super Four, with intent to disable the speed limiter.
A thread I read here earlier (Superfour misfire around 5,500rpm) made mention of an orange wire with blue tracer line coming from the CDI plug. I removed the left-hand side panel, took a look at the CDI unit, and there's no such wire on this bike's CDI!
If it helps at all, the bike's VIN number is NC31-1017131.
There are five wires coming from the CDI plug:
- Three yellow wires with grey bands.
- A red wire with white tracer line.
- a green wire.
Am I right in thinking that I should simply cut a length of wire, splice one end into one of these wires, and the other end into any ignition-on 12V+ power wire? If so, which of the CDI wires do I splice into?
There are also two wires leading to an earth terminal (going to one of the 6mm bolts used to secure the CDI to the frame).
Thanks to anyone who can help! :)
