hi folks, my nc29 is now burning oil. it runs fine, but it using about 3rd of a litre to about 1200 miles or so. about 6 months ago, i had new valve stem seals, and had the valves cleaned up and re-shimmed. the only other things i could think of is worn rings. the oil is still black, it doesnt look contaminated, and there isnt any smoke coming from the exhaust when the engine is nice and warm. ive got a compression test. what would you folks suggest? shes my work horse, i cnt afford to have her off the road.

Compression test probably won't help you much, you'll need to do a full leak down test - if you have the tools to do it. It'll tell you if it's valves, seals or rings etc.
