Not sure if anyone can offer any help here, last Tuesday my battery died due to a combination
of lack of use and the cold, I charged the battery and the bike started first time but due to snow it hasn't been
used for the last week and the battery failed to start the bike again
so I charged it last night stuck it in the bike this morning and now all the
bike will do is miss fire and won't start up. It's making a loud bang when it
miss fires and it just doesn't sound healthy. Due to being on the rock n roll
at the moment I am praying it's nothing catastrophic, but has anyone got any
ideas as to what is happenening or what I can check??

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Is it a possibility that you have changed the ht leads around by mistake?

Check that both wires are connected to the coils..

I put the ht leads in the wrong way before and man it was a loud bang!!!

Hi, no I haven't touched the ht leads, the bike has just been sitting there from on charge to the next, there is a possibility that I may have flooded the engine whilst trying to get it started. But surely that wouldn't cause it to backfire and kill a fully charged battery while I was trying again would it??

You've fouled the plugs for sure - wait and try again - from cold three quarters choke - no throttle at all until it fires.

Or bump start it in 2nd gear carefully ...

hi Graham how's things? It's been a while. Well I went out to stick the battery in this morning and there is a fresh layer of snow on the ground so I think I will leave it for a day or 2 as the choke doesn't work so it will require a bump. Dam this snow, and a cleared all the ice off the path and into the street yesterday so I could get the bike out.

You can also try using a dry set of plugs (used my buddy's plugs for it), worked for me.
