Is anyone going to the Silverstone MotoGP? I'd really like to go for the full weekend, probably camping.

Couple of questions:

Where can I get paddock passes from? Can't find them on the website.

For those who have been to Silverstone, is it worth paying extra for access to the grandstands?
Which grandstands (silver/gold/platinum) would you recommend?

It can be a bit of a con for paddock and pit passes. You have to go with the vip club. I went at Valencia and it cost a grand each. It just wasn't worth the extra. In europe Lemans is probably the best place for pit access pound for pound but it's still not that good. Pole Position travel do a meal in the gresini garage. Its about 355 per head that gets you in their garage and hospitality for a few hours. Motegi is the only circuit where you can buy full paddock access cheap.

Im going for the weekend, gonna be camping with the misses and my lil girl. Never been before either, so would be interested in wheres best to stand.

Definitely going this year, and want to do the camping aswell.

Have you seen the price of some of the tickets though....i fear i have to pay more, as the general admission one doesnt seem to get you any decent vantage points to watch

Yeah not cheap.

Weekend ticket prices:

General admission: £60
Silver grandstands: £80
Gold grandstands: £100
Platinum grandstands: £135

Plus an additional £25 to camp.

Can't see myself getting the platinum tickets but would be handy to know if gold is worth the extra £20 over silver.

The ticket prices are average with the rest of Europe. I dont think its that expensive, look at the cost of Football tickets or even concert tickets.

Paying 25quid for camping always seems like a total f-ing liberty though. You get exactly sweet fa for your money.

Actually, good point, you forget the ticket (weekend) is actually valid for three days, so divide the overall amount by three and it works out to be pretty good value i agree.

I just think its the initial outlay....i.e. £135 and then another £25, making it £160 seems a lot.

The camping is unbeleivabley expensive....do they provide you with a crate or 2 of beer to get "merry" with

I'll be going, hopefully camping with a couple of mates if they get their arses in gear and get a bike each by then.

Im going with my dad and a few mates, we booked early and got a great discount, about £80 each with grandstand I think
