hi all, i having a bit of a problem with my front forks. Ive stripped them down following to the letter the instructions in the haynes manual but im now stuck. The manual says to pull the two sections apart by holding one end in the vice and pulling hard on the other, using the lower bush to push the upper out of the fork bottom and therefore seperate the two sections. The problem is that this is not working, everytime i pull the leg out hard it simply sticks when fully extended and nothing happens. I perservered for a good 20 minutes but have made no headway, does anybody have any tips at all on what to do?
cheers in advance, jack

I had the same issue with my Tri-arm forks. It sounds like the lower bush is wedging itself inside the top bush rather than pushing it out. I ended up heating the top of the fork lowers and then trying again and the forks did eventually come apart. You will need to replace both fork bushes though as the coating will probably have been damaged now.
