Do you wear knee pads? What kind?

I wear a pair of black Razer pants with the kevlar knee and ass panels.
I've never really worn knee pads for comfort reasons, but I've always felt a bit naked in the knee area.
I've got a pair of knee pads from my rollerblading days. They seem pretty good, problem is they're really uncomfortable. They've got 2 stretching velcro straps that go around your quad and calf (one above and one below knee). When you walk its really annoying.
As a little experiment I tried holding them infront of my knees (on the outside of the pants), they're pretty inconspicuous (relative to the big boots, jacket, gloves and helmet :)) and ofcourse you can't even feel they are there, unless you drop to the floor on your knees, then you're glad :)
So I'm thinking of sewing some velcro to the knees of my pants and to the back of these knee pads. So I can just slap the pads on and they will be comfortable, then I can just pull them off when I want to wash the pants or when I'm packing the stuff in a backpack.
