NC30 CDI Vs NC35 CDI performance

What mods are needed to an rvf engine to get the nc30 cdi working?
My seat of the pants dyno tells me that the nc30 unit is superior in engine response and overall performance to the standard nc35 unit (build quality aside!).
I've always felt that the nc30 engine/cdi is a much more 'raw' combo. Maybe the nc35 cdi contributes (along with carbs and other small changes etc) to the reduced top end power compared to an nc30? I've had hrc nc35 cdi units and I still feel that they lack something compared the standard nc30 item.
Let alone an unobtanium (read: virtually doesn't exist!) nc30 hrc cdi unit...
Obviously a fully tuneable cdi is the way to go, but will an nc30 ignition unit improve nc35 engine performance?
