We have discussed this before. I think translogic will be best choice for this. This is from RVF, but I think it fit to NC29 too.

It's very difficult to get the electronic speedo mechanism working accurately on something that used a speedo cable without swapping a heap of stuff. Impossible? No. Difficult? Yes.
Aftermarket digital dashes are much easier to hook up and use.

Most after market dashes allow you to 'calibrate' the input from a couple of sources, either the CDI or one of the coils/leads for the tacho.
The problem you will have trying to use an established model is you can't calibrate it. You may strike it lucky though and find one with the same signal, or I have also heard (scuttle butt) you can manipulate the signal to match with the right resistor. Whether this is true or not and what the 'right' resistor might be i've no idea. If you have the time put a multimeter across the tacho signal (from the cdi or within the tacho itself) and an earth and see what you get, it might help establish if the rumours are true. I'd be curious to know the result too.
