Charging problem

Hi everyone,
I need some help I have a charging problem with my 92 Superfour.I recall that there was a post on the old forum with a link to a walk through chart on how to pinpoint whats at fault.
Can someone guide me back to it.

Thanks thats what I was looking for.
Must get my little honda back on the road ,I bought an old BMW K100 for touring good old bike but bloody heavy and you dont get the fun that the 400 provides.

If it's the alternator, i have a spare. I don't check in here often, so mail me through the forum.

If it's the reg don't even bother fitting a Honda one, get a different one. There used to be many threads fitting R6 regs to VFRs so it'd have to fit the SF as well. Also top tip, run a second earth direct from the reg casing to the battery neg, with nice thick cable. Regs often overheat due to poor earthing, doubling up will never harm the cause. I also fit my second reg with computer CPU heat transfer paste between it and its alloy brakcket, and that and the frame. Doesn't take much thinking about, since the heat is meant to disperse through the frame.

Also, if your reg failed, expect to need a new battery.
