argh!

well all my paint has arrived for painting the NC24 block and side covers so i went to the shed today to get the engine out and it's been raining in with all the rain we've been having!!
took off the genny cover and it's full of water!
as are all the cylinders
took the plugs out and blasted it with WD40 for now, as well as removing the sump drain plug.
it turns over so hadn't siezed.
Gonna blast it with the parrafin gun over the weekend (After painting my rocker covers and side cases)
and hopefully the beast will run
Didn't like the fact she chucked half a cup of water out the exhaust ports tho :/

ooo not good
mine is outside under a cover so wonder what happens when i go to start her up after all our lovely rain

when mine was outside being built, i noticed 2 of the inlet ports had filled with water, valve stems had started to rust lol.
anyway she fires ok, and once its been run and got nice and hot an oil change is on the cards

My left rear filled with water, that's the trouble with open carbs and no garage. Anyway, plug out, turn the engine over to fire out the water with a squirt of WD down the inlet and it's all fine, runs perfect. Or at least it did before I did the porting, who knows what'll happen now!

Crisis over...

Blasted a couple of litres of parrafin throughout the engine with the parrafin gun (set to 8 bar btw

)
In the bores, throughout the engine etc etc
After refitting all the covers (then realising i'd forgot to put the flywheel on, strip / refit / repeat) i filled her up with 3 litres of 15W40 Diesel oil (plenty of detergents)
Fitted the carbs, cable tied a pop bottle to a screw i'd put in the airbox and a few turns and she fired on all 4, what a trooper :D
Anyways, let it heat up nice and hot, the CCV started venting like a good'un, surprisingly when it was warm there was no smoke from the exhaust or the engine, runs bloody well too haha.
Draining the oil in the morning, it's living in the garage tonight and will replace it with some Silkolene
Got some more pics too so will be updating the rebuild thread
