My 73 has decided to stay in top

I`m aware that it is most probably a bent selector or suchlike my question is......
Is this a common problem with this particular 4 or am i just `lucky`

				Hi Andy,
It's not common for the higher gears to give problems (usually 2nd) so probs a bent selector, altho if you are lucky it could be the cam/return mech that is inside the R/H case below and behind the clutch basket. You can split the gear box without taking the barrel/head off but you will ned to drop the motor, so no easy fix.

Went out on the bike again last night(transit dead!) to a mate`s place 15 miles away(no choice in the matter) after approx 6 miles the gearbox changed down/up as normal and has behaved itself since

Really dont know what to make of this bike i`m sure!!
Thank`s for the reply valves,
Andy
