RVF is this standard?

Just took all the bodywork off my daughters NC35 ready for fitting her track fairings and found a black box looking valve with 2 adjusting screws connected to the rear shock with a hydraulic pipe. I take it this is some sort of remote adjustment. So is this standard or an add on. Plus what does the adjustment affect.

Sounds like a remote reservoir on an aftermarket shock. Maybe adjustment for rebound and damping - with preload on the shock-body. Not standard. Pics would be useful.

We need pics matey.

Doesn't sound standard anyways. The std RVF shock has a shroud over half the spring so they are obvious to spot..

TF are europenan, the netherlands, or one of the scandanavian countries if memory serves correctly.

I know they do a lot of stuff for Quads, didn't know they did a shock for the NC35.

It's deffo no standard anyway as the original unit was a japanese unit made by Showa.

TF have a good rep and i'll go out on a limb and say it's better than the standard item (if nothing else but age alone as time does take its toll on the original shock)

Deff not standard, probably far better (especially by now) than standard too

FWIW, this is the standard shock.

er that's not a NC35 subframe either, looks to be NC30, NC35 should look like this

That is a quality shock mate - you'll have rebound and compression damping on it.

Very nice indeed...

It always seems to be 'other people' that find these hidden items...it never happens to me.

Technoflex is the old name for Hyperpro and Hyperpro translates as expensive. I have a Hyperpro rear shock in my VFR and I didn't get much change from £600 and that was about 5 years ago. There is pre-load, rebound and high and low speed damping on mine and yours looks the same.
