Near Death Experience

Heres a pic of the bit that nearly ended the life of my nc30, anyone hazard a guess what it is?

luckly its now fixed and mot'd so ready for me to pick it up tomorrow at last. anyway lets see if anyone gets what part it is!

That's shocking, it looks like a spring, but seems to read W N M, could that be "was never much"

Spot on. My bike developed a 'rattle', thus the reason it came off the road. took it to get it looked at and this is what was under the cover. but neither me or my mech can figure out why it went, any one got any ideas? luckly it never bent the valve and the 3 pieces all stayed seated he ran it on his dyno and everything seems fine now but like i said could do with some ideas why this happened.

When you said it was actual size i had already clicked on it.....then found out it was a valve spring and thought bloody hell the valves must be massive :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Probably just one of those things, the motor may have been apart at some point and its been damaged, other than that it's probabyl just a dodgy spring.

If we are talking about an 89-94 VFR then guess what...the spring is close to or 20 years old. They do fatigue over time.
