this might sound silly but i was told today that i could get a £60 fine as my tax disc was on the right hand side of my bike , apparently its meant to be on the lefthand side , :blah: brings me onto my second point , where do you all display yours as i cant really find a anywhere other than the bolt top left of frame , but i always thought that was for a steering damper not tax disc as when moving my bike out of aqward places it traps between the bar and frame and presses me horn hehe :blowout:

I think that's right. There are many places to put them on the bike, but I've not displayed mine in over 4 years now. Not out of arrogance, just lazyness.

The law states it needs to be on the left side of the near or on the front forks!! But to be honest Police Officers are well aware how hard it is to position it there. as long as its displayed somewhere on the bike visible they will, understand and wont give you and FPN

I have always disliked the traditional tax disc set up on bikes, not a fan of those large hexagonal shaped disc holders, this is what I did to me Yamaha R1 8-)

I got a rotating tax disc tube, there are two sorts, a black plastic one for £25 and then a machined alloy one with LED light for £50 which is the one that I got 8-)

I put mine on the inside of the fairing and bolted it to the bolt on top of the radiator, impossible to steal and tamper proof inside the fairing, you'd have to strip the fairing off and unbolt it from the rad to get at it

Traffic wardens can see it and rotate the tube to see the barcode on the tax disc and its also protected by the weather, have a look 8-)

That is Great 400_Rider, but the LED's do make it look tacky in my opinion! Just my opinion though honestly! LOL.
I dont mind displaying mine off the odd bolt here and there, somewhere asthetically pleasing and not in the way of my controls etc etc. You can get Stick on Patches to cover the Tax Disc, and just put it at the bottom of the Front Fairing or just somehwere out the way??
Ive never known the Feds around here to kick up a stink over tax discs, unless youa ctually dont have one or it is out of Date! LOL

haha no tax disc, take some balls that  a lot of people I know have em stuck to their fridge and claim to never have had a problem, which is a bit silly as its defo illegal not to display a valid tax disc, wouldn't fancy parking on the road at Matlock bath without displayin a tax disc.

I hear what ya saying about the bling factor, not to everyones taste, but me R1 was me pride and joy show bike, it wanted for nothings, and the blue tax disc holder matched the Angel Eyes 8-)

I am glad I got rid of the R1 and got the RVF, RVF looks sexier and is much more fun to ride :worthy:  8-)

never known a copper to complain.
but the law states that the tax disc must be positioned on the left hand side of the bike,
so that it can be seen by a police officer whilst the :wanker: is stood on the kerbside.
